The University of Nebraska ASA Group sponsored a luncheon today, featuring a panel of local acoustical consultants (all alums of our program!): Jessica Hiatt from Alvine/IP Design Group, Eric Powell from Paradise Theater, and Jennifer Samson from WJHW. The panelists discussed their day to day workloads, their most impressive/surprising projects, and other questions brought up by the attendees. They highlighted that other important skills that they’ve found useful as an acoustical consultant (besides acoustics knowledge) include interpersonal skills (almost related to sales), writing/communication skills, and knowledge of HVAC systems. It was great to hear about the professional experiences of these three young acousticians!
