The Nebraska Acoustics Group (NAG) is comprised of faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students in the Architectural Engineering Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). We are physically based in the Peter Kiewit Institute, located on the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) campus. The group is led by Dr. Lily M. Wang and Dr. Erica Ryherd, faculty in the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction. Dr. Siu-Kit Lau, currently with the National University of Singapore, was also affiliated from 2009-2013. The members of this group have a strong interest in architectural acoustics and noise control.
The Nebraska Acoustics Group meets monthly throughout the academic year. During these meetings, the group discusses all-things related to architectural acoustics, including upcoming acoustics conferences, experiences of local performances, and acoustics in the news. Additionally, each NAG meeting features a presentation from one of the Nebraska Acoustic Group members. These presentations focus on the acoustics research being conducted at the University of Nebraska, or on pertinent equipment, methodologies, or recent journal papers dealing with architectural acoustics.
