The April 2017 issue of Noise Control Engineering Journal includes a paper by alums Dr. Joonhee Lee and Jennifer Francis with Dr. Lily Wang on “How Tonality and Loudness of Noise Relate to Annoyance and Task Performance”! The article presents results from Joonhee’s PhD work at the University of Nebraska, in which a multiple regression model was developed for predicting annoyance responses from tonal noise conditions using two of the most strongly correlated noise metrics, ANSI loudness level and tonal audibility. We have plans to publish more from Joonhee’s work soon – be on the lookout!
