The University of Nebraska ASA Student Chapter welcomed Dr. Bob Dooling from the University of Maryland on April 25, 2018, who presented a seminar on “Hearing and Vocal Production in Parrots (the Budgerigar): Are there parallels with speech & language?”. Dr. Dooling is originally from Omaha, and was able to coordinate this visit with a high school reunion. Others at UNL from Dr. Dai Shizuka’s group, who work more closely with bird acoustics, also joined us for the event.
