Congratulations to Zhao ‘Ellen’ Peng, who successfully defended her Ph.D. Dissertation “Designing Acoustics for Linguistically Diverse Classrooms: Effects of Background Noise, Reverberation and Talker Foreign Accent on Speech Comprehension by Native and Non-Native English-Speaking Listeners” on November 5, 2014, advised by Dr. Lily Wang! Ellen is off to RTWH Aachen where she will be doing a post-doc with Dr. Janina Fels on an international project “iCARE: improving Children’s Auditory REhabilitation.” Here is a photo from the December 2014 commencement, showing both Ellen and Jenn Francis on this happy occasion!
