On April 21, 2015, Dr. Lily Wang was in Arlington, VA, to participate in an EPA public webinar which introduced the seven grantees funded under the EPA Healthy Schools STAR program, of which UNL was one. More information on the EPA Healthy Schools STAR program may be found at this website; soon the presentations of the seven grantees from the webinar should be posted there as well. The four-year project funded at UNL will establish how the indoor air quality, thermal, lighting and acoustic conditions in K-12 school buildings interactively affect student achievement, determine the relative significance of each environmental variable, and reveal how student demographics may affect these results.
